The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Vase:
- a few cracks, including a long one that extends from the mouth all the way down across the base to the opposite side
- a slightly curved in area to one side, which should be original to manufacture
- a few minute nicks to edges
- two lightly polished areas to the foot
- other natural fissures and inclusions to the stone
Plaque:
- a restored crack to the middle of the plaque
- a few minute nicks to edges
- an area of irregularity to one side near the bottom
- natural inclusions to the stone
Axe:
- two knocks near the top on one side with associated polishing and possibly recarving
- two other recarved areas
- a few cracks and polished chips to the edges and corners
- some fissures and inclusions, which are inherent to the stone
