Lot Essay

Wang Dawen was born in Shanghai in 1942 and graduated from the Shanghai China Art Academy. She studied under Qian Shoutie and Tang Yun in her youth and was subsequently mentored by Cheng Shifa. After relocating to the United States, she taught at the City University of New York and Dallas University, among others. Her paintings have been exhibited in New York, Philadelphia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
