The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
All the dishes and the bowl have light wear in keeping with their age.
The bowl:
- There are some nicks and light fritting to the rim together with two shallow chips, the largest measuring max. approx. 0.8 x 0.2 cm.
- There is a hairline extending from the rim measuring max. approx. 3 cm. long.
- The base has a mark in underglaze blue of stylised flower heads within a square.
Smallest dish with metal handle:
- The handle is European and has been attached at a later date.
- There is a shallow, tiny chip to the rim measuring max. approx. 0.6 x 0.2 cm.
- The base has an apocryphal six-character Chenghua mark in underglaze blue.
Larger dish with flower heads and foliage to centre, metal handle:
- The handle is European and has been attached at a later date and re-soldered along a break in the middle.

- There is a firing flaw to the base with an associated star crack.
- There is a scratch to the reverse extending max. approx. 5 cm. from the rim.
Kraak dish with deer decoration:
- The rim has a hairline measuring max. approx. 2.5 cm.
- There is a multi-pronged star crack to the base, the longest arm extending max. approx. 14 cm.
- There is a firing flaw to the centre of the dish.
Dish with ladies playing musical instruments to the centre
- There is a hairline extending max. approx. 4.5 cm. form the rim.
Dish with bird decoration to the centre
- There is some fritting and tiny shallow chips to the rim, the largest measuring 1.5 x 0.3 cm.
- There is a firing flaw to the base
