Each fish is molded on a wave-form support above the semicircular tile, Ming dynasty (1368-1644). The biscuit figure of Laozi is shown holding a scroll in his left hand and riding a bull on a rockwork base, 17th century.
Fish rooftile: 11¼ in. (28.5 cm.); 10¾ in. (27.5 cm) high
Laozi figure: 9½ in. (24.5 cm.)
