The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First:
- There is a small iron spot to mouth rim.
- There is surface abrasion and light scratches to interior.
- There are a few kiln grit adhesions on the exterior.
- There is a minute glaze gap on exterior above the foot.
- There are a few small chips to foot.
- ""72.3.288"" has been inscribed in red ink on the base.
Second:
- There is a hairline extending from the mouth rim to the base with an associated chip.
- There is surface abrasion on the interior and exterior.
- ""C309"" has been inscribed in red ink on the base.
Third:
- There is a small hole to the foot on the exterior.
- There are areas of glaze degradation.
- There is a minor kiln grit adhesion to the base of interior.
- There is a small glaze gap on the interior.
- There is a repaired hairline extending from the mouth into the body.
- ""72.3.312"" has been inscribed in white ink on the interior below the rim.
