We have sought to record changes in the condition of these piece acquired after their initial manufacture. First: -The carving appears to be in good overall good condition for its age except some light surface wear.
Second: -There is a crack to the Buddhist lion's face, possibly due to carving. -There is a crack to the reverse side and another short crack extending from the edge. -The underside has not been fully inspected due to mounting. -There is wear and tarnishing to the metal mounting.
Third: -There is a short crack to the underside. -There is wear and tarnishing to the metal mounting.
Fourth: -There is a chip to the antenna of the butterfly. -There are two knocks to the edges with associated stained cracks. -There are some fissures and inclusions, which are inherent to the stone.
Fifth: -There are a few carving flaws. -There is a small minor loss to the top side of the carving. -The underside has not been fully inspected due to mounting -There is wear and tarnishing to the mounting.
Sixth: -There are a few minute chips and nicks to the edges and extremities. -There is a small carving flaw near one leaf.
