The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
Groom:
- There are some nicks, chips, short firing cracks, and a knock with associated hairline cracks.
- There is a small area of restoration in the front midsection of the body.
- There are slight glaze degradation and remnants of paints.
- The attributing is now missing.
Horse:
- The horse has been of its four hoof and restuck, with associated restoration.
- The two front legs have been restuck, with associated restoration.
- There are small losses and chips, particularly to one ear, mane and the harness.
- There are some earth encrustations.
- The painted pigments have possibly been refreshed.
