FROM THE FAMILY COLLECTION OF WIJCHGEL VAN LELLENS, ACQUIRED IN THE 18TH CENTURY AND THENCE BY DESCENT
A NEAR PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE VASES
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
Each vase is decorated with an official within a walled enclosure, looking down upon two ladies beside a censer on a rock, with the moon amongst clouds above. The necks are painted with bamboo sprays. There are apocryphal Chenghua marks to the bases.
