AN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND YELLOW-GLAZED 'DRAGON' DISH
JIAQING SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820)
The shallow, rounded sides rise to the slightly everted rim, and the interior is decorated with a five-clawed dragon amidst clouds in pursuit of a flaming pearl. The well is decorated with two further dragons chasing flaming pearls, which is repeated on the exterior above a petal-lappet border. The decoration is in lemon-yellow glaze reserved on an underglaze-blue ground.
