The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The plates:
- A few plates are warped.
- One plate has a fine hairline crack and a few nicks to the mouth rim.
- Two plates with one hairline crack.
- One plate has a fine hairline crack associated to a nick to the mouth rim.
- One plate has a small chip to the mouth rim.
- One plate has four small hairline cracks to the mouth rim.
- One plate has a nick to the mouth rim.
- One plate has a chip associated to a hairline crack and two other hairline cracks to the mouth rim.
- Otherwise the other plates are in fairly good condition, all with some wear to the gilding, a few nicks to the foot rim and minute areas of frits/bubble gaps to the mouth rims.
The saucer dishes:
- One dish has a hairline crack to the mouth rim.
- The other dishes are in fairly good condition.
All:
- There are general old-related wear and surface scratching as expected.
The condition of lots sold can vary widely due to factors such as age, previous damage, restoration, repair, and wear and tear. The nature of the lots sold means that they will rarely be in perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
