The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
All have light scratches and surface wear in keeping with their age.
One dish:
- A large semi-circular section of the rim has been cracked measuring approximately 8.5 cm. wide x 3.4 cm. deep max. with an associated chip to the rim measuring approximately 0.2 cm. x 0.2 cm. max. and several further associated shallow chips along the break.
- The rim has 13 more nicks and chips, the largest measuring approximately 0.5 cm. x 0.1 cm. max.
- There is some kiln grit to the foot ring.
The four further dishes:
- Each has a few scattered nicks to the ring
Sixth dish:
- There is a hairline extending approximately 1.5 cm. max. from the rim together with a few scattered rim nicks.
One bowl:
- This is in good condition.
Second bowl:
- There is a shallow chip to the rim measuring approximately 0.3 cm. x 0.1 cm. max. and a few scattered rim nicks.
- There is a glaze hairline extending approximately 0.8 cm. max. from the rim.
Third bowl:
- This is in OK condition.
Fourth bowl:
- Four hairlines extending from the rim, the longest measuring approximately 3.5 cm. long max.
Fifth bowl:
- There is a hairline extending from the rim measuring approximately 1 cm. long max.
- There are three nicks to the rim.
Sixth bowl:
- There are three nicks to the rim.
The condition of lots sold can vary widely due to factors such as age, previous damage, restoration, repair, and wear and tear. The nature of the lots sold means that they will rarely be in perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
