We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
All three figures are made from nanmu.

The largest figure:
- There are several age-related stress cracks to the base, one of which has been consolidated with a nail.
- There are small knocks to the extremities, as expected with age.
- There is some loss to the black pigment on the hair.
- The front section of the hair knot has chipped off and is missing.
- There is an oblong indentation to the back of the figure, which appears to have occurred during the making.

The seated official:
- There are losses and flaking to the pigment, as expected with age.
- The attribute to the figure's right hand is missing.
- There are a few minor age-related stress cracks to the base.

The standing guardian:
- -There are losses and flaking to the pigment, as expected with age.
- It is likely that there would have originally been a staff or sword in the each of the figure's hands which are now missing.
- There are some minor knock to the extremities, as expected.

The condition of lots sold can vary widely due to factors such as age, previous damage, restoration, repair, and wear and tear. The nature of the lots sold means that they will rarely be in perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
