Details
Each pair of immortals is modelled seated on a rocky base, their robes open at the chest. The HeHe Erxian in the first group hold a lotus stem and a fly whisk; while the immortals in the second group hold a fly whisk and an open clam.

Formerly in a private collection in France, most of which was purchased in Paris during the 1960s and 1970s, and then by descent to the present owner.

These two Daoist immortals, Hehe Erxian, are known as the twin spirits of Harmony and Mirth and are associated with happy marriages. The immortals are usually depicted as boys, one holding a box and the other a lotus stem.
