The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
One vase:
- There is a chip to the end of the dragon's tail.
- There are two TL test drill holes to the foot.
- There is a small area on the foot which fluoresces when inspected under UV light but does not appear to have been restored.
Both vases:
- There are glaze gaps and other small firing flaws to body.
- There are expected short firing cracks, particularly to the applied decoration.
One cover:
- There is restoration to the bird's head and some touched-up loss to the tip of both wings.
The other cover:
- There is a small chip to the rim which may be original to manufacture.
- There is restoration to the bird's head.
