The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
both:
- the metal mounts are later replacements and expected tarnishing with the expected separation from the joints with separation between the base of the tray and the sides
- separation of the base board from the side, one with associated wedges
one:
- repaired breaks to the trimming edges on the narrow side of the cover
- the cover is of a richer tone than its mate
- one panel of the cover is made from re-used timber

- the top has some sun damage
- a section of loss to the narrow side of the cover
- small section of loss to rear of the cover next to the hinge
