The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
one cover:
- restoration to head which is flaking off in areas.
- a repaired break running diagonally across the cover with another restored crack (approx. 11 cm.) from the neck to the bottom of the cover
- restoration to the feathers on the top of the cover.
- chips to bird's tail.
the other cover:
- a repaired break (approx. 15 cm.) running across the cover.
- an unglazed area to the back of the cover has left the enamels rubbed
one box:
- a chip to bottom of the box.
both:
- a few nicks to edges, wear to enamels and glaze flakes.
- some overpainting to the sides of the box and cover, and small rubbed areas
