The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Larger bowl:
- two polished areas to the mouth rim concealing the fritting
- some light surface scratches
- the interior has some scattered pin prick sized burst glaze bubbles
- polish to the foot rim
- '84.09' is written in black enamel on the base
Smaller bowl:
- a chip to the mouth rim, which is original to the manufacture
- an area of polishing to the interior near the mouth rim
- a few short firing cracks to base
- minute shallow chips to the foot, foot rim has been slightly polished
- '83.14' is written in black enamel on the base
