The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Fisherman:
- the rope/string that holds the fish near the hat appears to have some polished loss
- a small chip and associated white bruise to the tip of the straw cape on the proper left side where it covers the shoulder
- other very minor polished areas and minute nicks to the edges and extremities, including to the tip of the fingers, edges of the hat, the straw cape, and to the hems of clothing that cover the back of the shoes
Luohan:
- appears to be in overall good condition
- some polished areas near the base associated with a rough area, and some other minor polishing the edge of the base, which are all possibly original to manufacture
- some light mottling and inclusions in the stone, which are inherent to the material
- a few expected and negligible minute nicks to the edges
