The jade is carved and pierced as a monkey with its head turned slightly to one side, seated with its legs bent in front of the body and clutching a smaller monkey. The stone is of an even pale greenish-white tone.

Provenance
Private English Collection, acquired by the vendor's grandfather in the UK prior to 1980, and thence by descent within the family.
