The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
Both lanterns have some tiny nicks and light rrubbing to the enamels and gilt in keeping with their age.

The larger lantern, 33.7 cm. high overall:
- There is a broken and re-stuck triangular section measuring approx. 4 cm. x 2.5 cm. to one corner of the flared upper section that has some light associated overpainting.
- there is a small loss to one of the cells
The smaller lantern, 29 cm. high overall:

- This is in good overall condition.
