The vase is decorated on the exterior with gilt shou-characters amidst flower tendrils and bats on a blue-enamel ground, all above a band of stylized lappets on the foot, and below a band of ruyi-heads on the everted mouth rim. The base has a four-character hall mark Jinzhuan Yinguan (Poetic Chamber of Jin Tiles).
