Feng Kanghou (1901-1983), originally named Feng Qiang and a native of Panyu, Guangdong province, was a calligrapher and seal-carving artist who was also skilled at painting. He organized the Associated Painting Group together with Gao Jianfu (1879-1951) and Yang Shanshen (1913-2004). His works have been exhibited in Macau. He moved to Hong Kong in 1950 and taught seal carving, as well Chinese art and literature.

Zhang Guchu (1894-1965), whose sobriquet was Guchu, was originally named Zhang Hong. A native of Shunde, Guangdong province, he was Gao Jianfu’s student.
