Details
The panels depict five of the Eight Daoist Immortals, each embroidered in colored silk floss on a midnight-blue silk ground, including Zhang Guolao dressed in scholar's robes holding a bamboo tube containing divining rods, and accompanied by a mule; Li Tieguai attended by a dog and carrying a double gourd and an iron crutch; Lan Caihe, shown as a youth carrying a basket of flowers and fruit and attended by a crane; Lu Dongbin shown subduing a demon in a head lock with his right arm, with a fly whisk held in his left hand and a sword slung on his back; and Han Xiangzi, shown as a youth holding a flute and attended by a dragon.
