Lot Essay

Hu Dingpeng (1939-), a native of Meizhou, Guangdong province, was one of the first graduates from the Department of Classical Painting at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, which was founded by Guan Shanyue (1912-2000) and Li Xiongcai (1910-2001), two of the renowned masters of the Lingnan school of painting. Hu is a member of the Zhejiang Artists Association. His works have been collected by many institutions, such as the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the National Museum of Art of Romania, and the Lingnan Fine Arts Museum.
