The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The first:
- There is a bruised section to the tail of one dragon with associated recarving/polishing, possibly to conceal a chip.
-There are some minute nicks to the extremities.
-The stone has some snow flakes.
The second:
-There is a short crack to the head with a small area of chips to the edges.
-There is a chip to the tail with associated polishing/recarving.
-There are some shallow chips and nicks to the extremities.
-There is a bruised area to the lower section of one side with associated surface abrasion and a fissure/crack line.
-The stone has some natural fissures, vines and snow flake inclusions.
The third:
-There is a small shallow chip the the rim.
-There are some minute nicks to the extremities.
-The stone has some natural vines and black inclusions.
