The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after its initial manufacture.
The larger censer:
-There is a potting flaw to the interior neck.
-There is a polished section to the exterior mouth rim.
-There are surface scratches.
-There is a minute nick to one lion's handle.
-There is a potting imperfection to the foot rim.
-""FR96(2)"" has been inscribed on the base with white ink.
The smaller censer:
-There are a few areas of glaze loss to the mouth rim, one of which has an associated chip.
-There is some pitting to the area near the handles.
-There are surface scratches.
-There are a few shallow chips.
-The foot rim has been polished.
