Lot Essay

Wen Huaisha (1910-2018), whose family was originally from Hunan, was born in Beijing. His studio was named Yantang. He was a renowned master of Chinese traditional culture, painting and calligraphy. He served as the president of the Yantang Poetry Club, honorary director of the College of Liberal Arts at Shanghai University and of the Research Institute of Chinese Poetry, Painting, and Calligraphy.
