A BLUE AND WHITE 'PHOENIX' DISH
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The dish is decorated on the interior with a phoenix roundel at the center, surrounded by eight alternately ascending or descending phoenixes. The exterior is decorated with three phoenixes in flight. An apocryphal Jiajing mark within a double circle is on the base within the unglazed channeled foot.
13 ¼ in. (33.7 cm.) diam.
