A BRONZE ARCHAISTIC PEAR-SHAPED VESSEL, HU
MING-QING DYNASTY (1368-1911)
The flattened vase is raised on a tall foot to a flared neck flanked by a pair of handles from animal heads, and is decorated with three bands of wave patterns incorporating stylized taotie masks, all reserved on a leiwen ground. The foot is decorated with a band of two pairs of dragons, also reserved on a leiwen ground.
