The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The metal edge of the interior of the cover has changed shape and hence the interior panel of the cover is now loose.
The copper colour of the base plate is visible.
As expected with use there is residue to the interior of the box.
As expected with age, there are small dents and surface wear.
The calligraphy is crisp and delicate.
