A GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF SEATED GUANYIN
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The bodhisattva is seated in rajalilasana with right hand resting atop the bent knee holding a rosary and the left hand held flat for support, and is richly dressed in an elaborately decorated dhoti. The hair is drawn up into a topknot within a three-point openwork crown with a figure of Amitabha Buddha seated behind. The figure is accompanied by two acolytes and a coiled dragon near the feet at the base.
