PROPERTY OF A LADY

A PEWTER-ENCASED YIXING TEAPOT AND COVER
DAOGUANG PERIOD, INCISED WITH CYCLICAL DINGHAI DATE, CORRESPONDING TO 1827, AND OF THE PERIOD
The teapot has a pewter exterior and red pottery interior, with a wood loop handle, short tapering spout and a jade loop finial on the cover. The teapot is incised on one side with bamboo and signed by Zhu Yin. The reverse is incised with inscriptions, which is a couplet referring to the teapot, also signed by Zhu Yin and dated with Daoguang cyclical date. The loop wood handle is further inscribed with another four characters, yun zhen zhai zhi (made by Yun Zhen Studio). The pottery base is inscribed yang peng nian zhai (made by Yang Peng Nian).
