The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
Figure of Tara:
- The hems of the robes and the beading are finely detailed.
- The figure is missing the attribute held in her hand.
- There are traces of red and blue pigment to the hair, lips and reverse of the crown.
- There is a very small shallow dent to the lower edge of the base to the reverse of the figure.
- There is a partial crack to the tips of both thumbs that does not appear to go all the way through the finger.
- There is a tiny loss to the extremity of one point of the crown.
- There is a small chip to the underside of the base.
- There is some light surface wear and rubbing to the gilt.
Figure of Akshobhya:
- There is wear and rubbing to the gilt.
- There are some minor losses to the extremities including points of the crown and to the lower edge of the base.
- The thumb and one finger have been broken and reattached with some associated tiny losses.
