The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- both heads with surface flaking to the pigment
- one head has restoration to the neck area and some loss to the extension of the neck and some chips to the top of the head
- one head possibly replacement
- glaze wear and degradation to the figures
- areas of restoration including to the bowl, stand, and parts of the front and back of the figure with associated overpainting
- firing crack to the first figure
- chip to the collar on the second figure
- scattered small chips to extremities
