The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The first jade plaque:
- a fissure extending form the top, visible on both sides
- the stone is of an even white tone with a russet highlight on one corner edge

The other jade plaque:
- appears to be in overall good condition
- the stone is of an even white tone

The hardstone plaque:
- possible loss to one side, which had been polished
- brown vein inclusions, which are inherent to the stone
