The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

L’œuvre est sur sa toile d’origine. Un ruban adhésif court le long des bords. Le châssis présente une légère déformation. Quelques légères traces de châssis sont visibles par endroits le long des bords. Présence de fines griffures et légers lustrages par endroits principalement dans les parties noires. Quelques très fines craquelures sont visibles par endroits, principalement en correspondance de l’élément bombé inférieur. Présence de très petits points d’accrétion par endroits sur la surface. Les anciennes taches de moisissure, visibles au dos, sont courantes sur les toiles fines utilisées par l'artiste et cohérentes avec le vieillissement de l'œuvre. Les irrégularités de surface sont inhérentes à la méthode de travail de l’artiste. Examinée à la lumière UV: présence de points de repeints vers et le long du bord gauche dans la partie grise. Sous réserve de ce qui précède, selon notre opinion, l’œuvre est en bon état général de conservation.

The work is not lined. An adhesive tape is along the turnover edges. The stretcher presents a slight distortion. A few slight stretcher marks are visible in places along the edges. There are fine scratches and slight lustrings in places, mostly to the black parts. A few very fine cracks are visible in places, mostly corresponding to the lower curved element. There are small pinpoint accretions in places to the surface. The old inactive mold stains, visible on the back, are common on the thin canvases used by the artist and consistent with the ageing. The irregularities to the surface are inherent to the artist’s working method. Examined under UV light: there are points of inpainting towards and along the left edge to the grey part. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in overall good condition.
