The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

L'œuvre est sur sa toile d'origine. La toile est légèrement détendue et présente une très légère ondulation dans la partie gauche. La surface est légèrement encrassée et poussiéreuse. Quelques traces de frottement et points d'accrétion sont visibles par endroits sur la surface. Une déchirure de la toile est visible le long du bord inférieur vers la gauche. Quelques très fines craquelures, et un minuscule éclat sont visibles sur un empâtement blanc en correspondance de la partie centrale de la chemise du personnage Examinée à la lumière UV: pas de repeint apparent. Sous réserve de ce qui précède, selon notre opinion, l’œuvre est en bon état général de conservation.

The work is not lined. The canvas is slightly loose and undulates very slightly to the left part. The surface is slightly dirty and dusty. Some rubbing and small pinpoint accretions are visible in places to the surface. A canvas tear is visible along the lower edge towards the left. A few very fine cracks and a tiny chip are visible in a white impasto in correspondence to the central part of the figure's shirt. Examined under UV light: no visible inpainting. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in overall good condition.
