Lot Essay

Loel and Gloria Guiness’ fashionable apartment at 18 Avenue Matignon was designed by Georges Geffroy (1903-1971), the prominent Parisian society decorator who worked for the Hon. Daisy Fellowes (née Marguerite Séverine Philippine Decazes de Glücksberg) and created interiors for Baron Alexis de Rédé in 1948 at the Hôtel Lambert. The Guinesses’ apartment was later owned by Nelia Barletta de Cates.
