The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Watercolour and black chalk on paper. The reverse of the sheet is hinged to the mount in two places along the upper edge. Some very pale light staining with one spot of foxing in the sky at the extreme right edge. A diagonal repaired tear (approx. 5 cm.) towards the lower part of the left edge with associated Japan paper on the reverse. A further small, repaired tear (approx. 0.5 cm.) in the sky above the boat on the left with associated Japan paper on the reverse. On the reverse: tape remnants of old hinges along the upper part of the right and left edges. Medium is strong and fresh throughout. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally good condition.

Aquarelle et craie noire sur papier. Le revers de la feuille est maintenu au montage par des charnières à deux endroits le long du bord supérieur. Très légère insolation de la feuille avec une piqûre dans le ciel à l’extrémité du bord droit. Une déchirure diagonale restaurée (approx. 5 cm.) vers la partie inférieure du bord gauche, associée à du papier Japon au revers. Une autre petite déchirure restaurée (approx. 0.5 cm.) dans le ciel au-dessus du bateau à gauche, avec papier Japon associé au revers. Au revers : des résidus d’adhésif d’anciennes charnièresle long de la partie supérieure des bords droit et gauche. Le medium est vif et frais sur l’ensemble de la composition. Sous réserve de ce qui précède et selon notre opinion, cette œuvre apparait en bonne condition générale.
