Oil on board. Varnished. Some frame abrasion with associated rubbing, mainly along the lower part of the right edge and along the upper edge. Some pale surface dirt with associated spots of accretion in places. Two artist’s tack holes towards each lower corners. Two small dents along the upper part of the right edge and a small area of board skinning at the tip of each corners. Two diagonal lines of surface irregularities towards the centre of the composition, most likely corresponding to incisions made on the board before the time of execution. One horizontal line of surface abrasion in the upper part of the composition. Examined under ultra-violet light: no apparent retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally good condition.
Huile sur carton. L’œuvre est vernie. Abrasion due aux frottements du cadre associée à des zones d’usure, principalement le long de la partie inférieure du bord droit et le long du bord supérieur. Légère salissure de surface associée à des points d’accrétion par endroits. Deux trous de punaise faits par l’artiste vers chaque coin inférieur. Deux petits enfoncements le long de la partie supérieure du bord droit et une petite zone d’épidermure du carton à l’extrémité de chaque coin. Deux lignes diagonales d’irrégularités de surface vers le centre de la composition, correspondant probablement à des incisions faites sur le carton avant le moment d’exécution de l’œuvre. Une ligne horizontale d’abrasion de la surface dans la partie supérieure de la composition. Examiné à la lampe à ultra-violets: aucune retouche apparente. Selon notre opinion cette œuvre apparaît en bonne condition générale.
