Pastel on canvas. Not lined. Pastel is not fixed. Some frame abrasions with associated rubbing, small pastel losses and glue/tape remnants from an old masking tape along the edges. Some pale surface dirt with a very few minute possible stains in places. A very few minute craquelures in the thickest white impastos of the bunch. A few lines of soft surface abrasion in places mainly towards the lower part of the composition and at left of the sitter’s face. Some potential minute skillful restorations in places (some probably corresponding to skillfully restored stains visible under ultraviolet light). Pastel is very strong and very fresh throughout. Subject to the foregoing it is or opinion that this work appears to be in generally good condition.
