The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Watercolour and black chalk on paper. The reverse of the sheet is taped at the edges with Japan paper to a sheet support which has been skilfully cut to shape to allow the reverse of the sheet to be fully visible. Watermarked. The upper edge is slightly uneven with a very few minute horizontal flattened folds, probably due to the work being removed from the artist’s sketchbook. One vertical skillfully repaired tear (approx. 1.5 cm.) towards the centre of the upper edge. Some very pale light staining with a very few potential minute pale spots of foxing in places and a very few minute pale water stains in places (most probably dating from the artist studio). Medium is very strong and very fresh throughout. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally very good condition.

Aquarelle et pierre noire sur papier. Le revers de la feuille est maintenu par des fausses marges. Filigrané. Le bord supérieur est légèrement irrégulier avec de très rares et minuscules pliures aplaties horizontales, probablement dues au fait que l’œuvre a été retirée du carnet à dessin de l’artiste. Une déchirure verticale restaurée avec soin (approx. 1.5 cm.) vers le centre du bord supérieur. Très légère insolation de la feuille associée à de très rares et minuscules piqûres discrètes potentielles par endroits et de très rares et minuscules tâches d’eau discrètes par endroits (datant très probablement de l’atelier de l’artiste). Le médium est très vif et très frais sur l’ensemble de la composition. Sous réserve de ce qui précède et selon notre opinion, cette œuvre apparait en très bonne condition générale.
