The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Oil on canvas. Not lined. Varnished. Some slight abrasions and associated rubbing and minor discolouration to the edges. Some light surface dirt and a few pinpoint surface accretions. Upper horizontal and central stretcher bar marks slightly visible. Examined under ultra-violet light: a few small dots of retouching in the sky along the horizon. And some uneven fluorescence along the lower edge. The surface is difficult to read due to heavy varnish. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that the artwork is in overall very good condition.
