MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY)
The flattened bottle worked in silver wire and various coloured cloisonné enamels with two panels, one depicting a ho-o bird amongst flower sprays, the other with a butterfly amongst chrysanthemum and kikyo [Chinese bellflower], bordered by a hanabishi [floral diaper design] ground, gilt base and cover
