The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in its condition acquired after its original manufacture. - Overall both screens are in good condition. - As it typical of this type of folding screen there are a few very minor surface marks, mainly around the hinges. The hinges themselves are in good condition. - There are a few minute surface losses of gold pigment to the winter screen - 2nd panel from the right, near the top edge. - The reverse of each screen is mounted with silk which has very minor wear in a few places consistent with age. - The fitted wood box has some old wear overall consistent with its age and use, but is sturdy and in good working order.
