A CERAMIC VASE AND COVER
The oviform "Arts and Crafts" style vase with short straight neck, decorated in the manner of a design by William Morris in two-tone blue enamels and gilt on a crackled cream ground with panels alternately enclosing a bird perched in a floral tree and stylised flowers with scrolling foliage, the neck with a band of medallions enclosing flowerheads, the cover similarly decorated, the finial with a stylised flowerhead, the signature Tozan kinsei [respectfully made by Tozan] to the base, the tomobako [original wood box] with inscription, signed Tozan zo and sealed Tozan
