The circular box with lobed rims, decorated in gold and red hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, hirame and kinpun on a black ground, the cover with a pair of deer, some autumn grasses issuing from rockwork, beneath the moon and clouds, the sides with two mon [family crests], the interior of the cover with a dog and two monkeys eating fruit besides autumn grasses, the box interior black lacquer, fundame rims, with a wood storage box
14 cm. diam.
