SIGNED DAINIHON KYOTO TOJIKI GOSHIGAISHA RYOZAN KINSEI [RESPECTFULLY MADE BY RYOZAN, THE KYOTO CERAMIC JOINT STOCK COMPANY, GREAT JAPAN], MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH – EARLY 20TH CENTURY)
Decorated in various coloured enamels and gilt on a crackled cream ground with a pair of pheasants amongst cherry blossom, encircled with a border of various brocades, the reverse with wild-ginger leaves and auspicious objects, three holes to footring for wall hanging, gilt signatures within
57 cm. diam.
