A SET OF SEVEN NESTING BOWLS FROM A DAIMYO WEDDING SET
EDO PERIOD (17TH – 18TH CENTURY)
Each with nashiji ground decorated in gold hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, gold and silver kirikane depicting kiri-mon [paulownia family crests], yamabuki flowers growing on hillocks beside a stream, interior in red lacquer with fundame rims and the area within the foot-rim in sparse nashiji, the four smaller bowls with a twig of yamabuki within the foot-rim, with a storage wood box
Ranging from 9.9 cm. to 13.8cm. diam.
