The tall, square vase with sides widening from the base towards the shoulder, decorated overall in a reddish-brown glaze, the sides with impressed rope pattern and spot design which has been inlaid overall in white slip, parts inlaid in blue and pink glazes forming wavy lines, the base with impressed artist's mark 'Ta' in katakana; in fitted wood storage box (tomobako) signed and sealed Tatsuzo, and titled Jigusuri Jomon zogan marumon hoko (Square vase with slip-inlaid impressed rope pattern and circular patterns)
